What is an SIP Calculator?

A SIP Calculator estimates what a fixed monthly investment in a mutual fund could be worth after a chosen number of years, at a return rate you enter. It shows the amount you invest, the estimated gains and the total value.

A Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) is a way of investing a fixed amount in a mutual fund at regular intervals, usually every month. Because the result depends on the return rate you assume, the calculator is most useful for comparing scenarios, such as a higher monthly amount or a longer period. Actual mutual fund returns move with the market and can be lower or higher than any rate you enter.

How to use the SIP Calculator

  1. Enter monthly investment.
  2. Enter expected return rate.
  3. Enter time period.
  4. Tap Calculate to see the result.
  5. Tap Reset to clear the fields and try again.

Who should use it

  • First-time investors deciding how much to invest each month
  • Salaried people planning for a goal such as a home, a car or retirement
  • Parents planning for a child's education
  • Anyone comparing a longer or shorter investment period
